A polo shirt is the default staff shirt for most Kenyan offices, banks, SACCOs, NGOs, schools, shops and field teams. It looks smarter than a t-shirt, it is cooler than a button-up shirt, and it takes a logo well. If you are searching for branded polo shirts in Kenya, the real question is usually not whether to order polos but which fabric, which branding method and how to keep every batch looking the same over the next two or three years.
MoveBrands is a Nairobi Kasarani-based manufacturer. We cut, sew, embroider and print in-house, and we have a shop in Kasarani, Nairobi where you can walk in, feel the fabrics, try on sample sizes and look at thread colours before you commit to a bulk order. Because the garment and the logo are handled under one roof, there is no hand-off between a tailor and a separate embroidery shop, and nobody to blame when a logo sits crooked.
Fabric decides how the shirt feels at 2pm in a hot office, how it behaves in the wash and how long the colour lasts. These are the options we discuss most often with Nairobi and upcountry buyers.
| Fabric type | Feels like | Suits | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton-polyester pique blend | Textured, breathable, holds its shape | Daily office and field wear, the usual choice for staff polos | Very cheap blends can pill after many washes |
| 100 percent cotton pique | Soft and cool | Hospitality front desk, client-facing roles | Can shrink and fade faster if washed hot |
| Polyester sports knit | Light, quick-drying | Event teams, outdoor promotions, sports days | Holds odours; not ideal for embroidery on thin knits |
| Heavier pique, higher gsm | Thick and structured | Management shirts, winter in Nakuru, Nyahururu or Nanyuki | Warmer in coastal weather such as Mombasa |
As a rule, if the shirt will be worn three or four days a week and washed often, choose a cotton-polyester pique. If it is for a one-day launch or a roadshow, a lighter and cheaper knit is enough. Ask to see both at the Kasarani, Nairobi shop so you can compare before choosing.
Both work on a polo, and we do both. The choice depends on the logo and how long the shirts must last.
A common mix is embroidered polos for permanent staff and printed polos for seasonal promoters or event crews. Our blog guide on embroidery vs screen printing explains the trade-offs in more detail.
Most complaints about bulk staff shirts come from sizing, not from the logo. Before you place an order, avoid these common mistakes:
We keep your logo file and pattern details on record, so when you need more shirts later the logo size, position and thread colours are repeated exactly.
You can also fold polos into a wider uniform order. Many clients add branded caps, reflector jackets or dust coats to the same job so everything matches. For larger tenders, see our bulk orders page.
We make everything in Nairobi and deliver countrywide, including Mombasa, Machakos, Kiambu, Thika, Embu, Meru, Nanyuki, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Kakamega and Bungoma. We have branches and agents in these towns, and you can also order from anywhere: send the details by WhatsApp, approve the artwork digitally and receive the finished shirts packed per size or per department if you ask for it.
Small and medium quantities are fine. Bulk rates apply as quantities grow, so tell us your total when you ask for the quote, including shirts you expect to reorder.
For shirts worn every week for years, embroidery. For a short campaign or a very large run with a simple logo, screen printing. We will advise after seeing your logo.
Yes. Contrast collars, cuffs or panels are possible, and we can match colours to your brand guide or a sample garment you bring to the shop in Kasarani, Nairobi.
Yes. We keep your embroidery or print file on record, so size, position and thread colours are repeated on new batches.
In many cases yes, depending on the fabric. Embroidery needs a stable fabric, so bring a sample to the shop or send a photo and we will confirm.
